Visitors - María Lourdes Romano (UNAM), new visiting researcher at GENOCOV

Lourdes, a Master in Evironmental Engineering student from Facultad de Química (UNAM) is currently conducting research with single-chamber Microbial Electrolysis Cells using ruthenium oxide and metallic nickel to cover the anode and the cathode. Her thesis entitled "Application of a Bio-electrochemical system for hydrogen production using a microbial electrolysis cell” is producing successful results.

She has just arrived to “GENOCOV” to learn some of our techniques and to compare her anodic and cathodic materials with those used in GENOCOV. This comparison should be further extended with electrochemical measurements. Hence, Lourdes aims at conducting some Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy experiments as well. Both Yolanda Ruiz and Marina Badia will be helping her under the supervision of Juan Antonio Baeza and Albert Guisasola.

Welcome to GENOCOV Lourdes!!
