Gabriela Montiel Jarillo, member of GENOCOV research group, has been selected among 10 other PhD students to present her research work in the final phase of the contest “Tesi en 4 minuts” organized by the UAB Graduate School. The oral presentation is going to take place the next Thursday 15 May in the “Teatre de la UAB (at Plaça cìvica)” at 10:00 am. Is an open to the public event, that is also going to be broadcasted live on the university´s website.

Gabriela is going to present part of her thesis research with the title: “Polyhydroxyalknaotes (PHA): a bioplastic with a green agenda”. PHA are a group of bioplastics obtained by more than 300 different bacteria. During Gabriela´s thesis research, a 72% of PHA has been obtained by using industrial wastewater from olive oil production.
