GENOCOV invites to the opening of the pilot plant for wastewater treatment developed in the framework of the European SMART-Plant (Grant Agreement no. 690323), one of the pioneering projects of the Innovation Action under the program Horizon 2020. This pilot plant implements a new system developed by the for the treatment of mainstream wastewater. The new configuration, SCEEPPAR, is based on two Sequenced Batch Reactor(SBR)and enables for nutrient removal and resource.
The pilot plant installed in the EDAR Manresa reactor has a volume of 9 m3 and is designed to treat 10 m3/d of urban water. The new system incorporates nitrogen removal via nitrite and biological phosphorus removal anoxic and aerobic. The new configuration will recover organic matter in the form of PHA, a bioplastic precursor, without adding any external source of carbon. It also includes recovery of phosphorus in the form struvite, a slow release fertilizer.
The opening of the facility will take place at the WWTP SCEPPHAR Manresa on 22 June at 11: 00h.
A bus from the UAB will depart at 10: 00h. The event will consist of brief speeches by the authorities involved followed by a description of the technology. When finished, guided tours will explain the facility in parallel to refreshments in a networking space.
We hope to see you there!
