Between April and June 2017, David Gabriel and Daniel González (GENOCOV) were seconded at Unisensor SensorsSysteme Gmbh (Karlsruhe, Germany) in the frame of the EU H2020 RISE project “Developing on line tools to monitor, control and mitigate
GHG emissions in WWTPs “ (C-FOOT-CRTL). This project aims at reducing the emissions of Green House Gases (GHG) from Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants by applying control strategies based on-line sensors developed at Unisensor Gmbh. Unisensor (http://www.unisensor.de/) has developed a modified version of their Carboscan unit for the on-line measurement of methane, nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide that was tested at the Karlsruhe WWTP before being delivered to other partners in the EU project. GENOCOV researchers provided their field expertise in the use and implementation of sampling devices such as flux chambers commonly used when sampling off-gases from waste treatment facilities.
