Ana Rita Silva, a PhD student from University of Minho (Portugal, Braga), will be staying for 6 months at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona as a visiting PhD student.
She works in the field of environmental biotechnology, focusing on the treatment and valorisation of hydrocarbon-based wastewaters for neutral lipid production by hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria (HOB). Within this collaboration, she intends to be part of GENOCOV’s research group, aiming to improve her knowledge and laboratory skills in the bioelectrochemical field during 6 months. She will be working with microbial electrolysis cells (MEC) for sulphate reduction. The aim of the work is to treat the high sulphate concentration present in a real effluent provided by the petroleum industry.
Welcome to GENOCOV Ana Rita!!!
