SHORT SUMMARY OF SCIENTIFIC LIFE
Zainab Ul Kausar (Pakistan, 1997) is a chemical engineer (UAB, 2019). She is currently a MSc student in Biological and Environmental Engineering (UAB).
Along with the MSc studies, she is collaborating in the department’s research project that consists of optimizing the configuration of microbial electrolysis cells (MEC) for efficient hydrogen production from wastewater. MEC are able to recover large amount of chemical energy contained within the organic contaminants as hydrogen.
Zainab’s current research interests are:
• Bioelectrochemical production of hydrogen from wastewater on a pilot scale.
• Performance of single chamber MECs using different anode material.
