SHORT SUMMARY OF SCIENTIFIC LIFE
Pilar Sánchez Peña (Terrassa (Barcelona), 1994) is degreed in Chemistry (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2016) and MSc in Electrochemistry, Science and Technology (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2017). During her degree she was contracted as a scholarship holder in Leitat Technological Center where she collaborated in the experimental and monitoring of some MECs, MFCs and SFCs. She is currently a PhD student in Environmental Science and Technology and her research tries to improve electrodes and membranes of BioElectrochemical systems.
Pilar’s current research interests are:
• Design news materials of electrodes (anodic and cathodic) for an improve the hydrogen production.
• Improve membranes in BES.
• Understanding the fundamentals of bioelectrochemical systems for hydrogen and electricity production from wastewaters in view of optimisation energy recovery.
• Scaling-up of bioelectrochemical systems to bridge the gap between lab and pilot scale.
